Happy New 2018 – I’m excited about 2018. Everybody I know seems to think this year is going to be better than last.

I agree. The vibe seems to be on the upswing.

But let’s not leave it to chance.

Let’s set some definite intentions to keep it move it moving in a positive direction.

I intend to start my day out with gratitude – will you join me?

I intend to be grateful for even seemingly mundane things – like ready access to water and electricity and the internet. (Mine was out yesterday and oh my, was I ever grateful when getting it back up today!)

I intend to notice how blessed I really am. Will you count your blessings and notice how blessed you are?

I intend to reach out more and connect by phone and in person, not just send emails and texts – might you answer when I call?

I intend to look for things to appreciate in my day so I continue to build strong positive neural pathways in my brain. Perhaps you’ll do the same?

If you worry about your brain at all, give yourself the gift of Positive Leadership.

The new positivity practices you learn will light up all the right parts of your brain! And I’ll give you a New Year’s gift of a one hour complimentary private coaching session that will further expand your ability to change your brain in response to your experience!

I intend to slow down enough to look for the strengths in others and acknowledge and recognize them. Can you slow yourself a bit too so you might see things you hadn’t noticed before?

I intend to help people feel valued, just because they are. I intend to give value wherever I can. Will you ask yourself “How can I create more value?”

I intend to stop often during the day and breathe deeply and notice where I want my intention and energy to go next, rather than let the next buzzing thing grab hold of my attention.

Energy Flows Where Intention Goes

This New Year – will you be breathing more deeply with me? Will you slow down enough to notice the effect your behavior has on others? Are you willing to re-frame how you look at things?

Positive Leadership is the disciplined practice of creating a positive, productive, and performance based culture where people feel valued, appreciated and energized. In this kind of environment people are willing to bring their best selves to work and do whatever it takes to fulfill the mission and purpose of the company. Positive Leaders are thoughtful, deliberate and reflective.

Will you commit to being a more positive leader this year? I know I will.

I intend to laugh at myself more, love myself more and get up from my chair more often and drink more water.

I intend to understand more about what keeps you up at night, what challenges you and what I can do to help you slay a dragon, shed a new light, or create a new – perhaps inspired – perspective, on your situation.

The year is fresh and new. Intend to keep an open “beginner’s mind.”

Energy Flows Where Intention Goes – here are my recommendations for you:

Put your intention and your attention together and focus on the things that really matter.

Bring your whole self to work every day = Body+Mind+Spirit.

Create a safe space so others can bring their whole selves too.

Encourage positivity with open discussion and creative conversations.

Positivity Practice:

Before walking into your place of work to start your day, prime your mind with thoughts of appreciation and gratitude. Think about the good people inside – in your mind’s eye see them smiling. Spend a moment feeling grateful for all the worthwhile work those people do. Take a breath. Now, think about something you love.

That’s right, allow yourself to react to those good feelings and feel a smile happening on your face. Feels good, right?

You got it now.

Put yourself in the vibration of love and appreciation before you walk in the door. You set the stage for a successful day, because people can feel that high vibration. You are starting the day off on a high note.

With love and appreciation for all you do to make the world a better place,

JoAnna
